Manufacturing

At IER Fujikura, we utilize
compression, transfer, injection and other proprietary molding technologies to meet customer needs. In addition, our vast knowledge of formulas and compounds allows us to produce parts that will function in almost any environment.
We continually refine our processes in prototype design, rubber compound development, manufacturing, value-added surface treatments and assembly. We also provide application and testing design assistance, compound development and testing, cost-justified components and equipment, and responsive supply.
Bonding Process. Our experience in thermoset bonding of rubber to metal and to engineered plastics inserts allows us to offer unique application solutions. Our ability to bond rubber parts during the molding process (rather than a secondary |
|
glue operation) reduces cost (i.e., assembly labor cost and equipment investment). It also reduces weight, creates tighter tolerances, ensures seal integrity and detection, and reduces the supply chain for our customers.
Custom Compounds. Our experience in developing custom compounds has led to many application solutions, providing customers with a means to achieve new business. We have embraced difficult specifications and have thus broadened our experience. This ability reduces our customers’ development time to market.
Our in-house ability to batch the rubber, test, mold and utilize our Basler automated inspection system reduces our production lead time to fulfill your needs.
Lean Manufacturing. We have adopted Lean Manufacturing in our process flow, removing the unnecessary costs in movement and labor. Our flexible manufacturing systems support our customers’ requirements for EDI, KANBAN, Pull Signals and Just-In-Time.
Secondary Processes. Our secondary processes include surface treatments and coatings, die-cutting, assembly |
|
and special packaging. Our I-Process surface treatment enhances seal function, assembly and packaging.
Quality Control. At IER Fujikura, we always strive for zero defect manufacturing through continuous improvement policies and strict quality control. We have invested substantially in the latest in functional testing equipment, SPC control equipment and visual inspection equipment to assure superior quality.
Our Kaizan program provides ongoing improvement to
our operations.

IER Fujikura continues to exceed the requirements for all of the following Quality Certificates:
• ISO 9000:2000 Certified
• TS 16949:2002 Certified
• AS 9100 B Certified
• ISO / IEC 17025 Certified
