Custom application design support
We specialize in developing custom-compounded fluoroelastomers, including Viton®, Fluorel®, and Technoflon®. Our full-range library offers HNBR, Fluorosilicone, Silicone, Nitrile, Polyacrylate, EPDM, Neoprene, Hydrin, Butyl,
and Hypalon.
For low temperature, fuel-resistant rubber sealing applications, requiring tight-tolerances and good compression sets, we have many compounds.
Our compounding experience supports our customers’ Engineering group to push the design envelope to meet or create the end-user’s needs. IER Fujikura offers design input on rubber parts, and for the rubber compounds used in these applications.
IER Fujikura’s engineering staff is experienced in all synthetic
elastomers and we pioneered in the molding of fluorinated elastomers such as Viton® and Fluorosilicone. Fuel systems, solenoid valves, flow control systems and sealing devices incorporated into customer applications are nearly an everyday occurrence.
Our overmolding of rubber (thermoset bonding as well as mechanical lock design) has led to experience with virtually all ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as heat and fuel resistant plastics.
Manufacturing for assembly and KISS combined with assembly capability, automation and 100% functional testing are inherent in our thought process. Our degreed project engineers have customer responsibility and “cradle to grave” (from RFQ costing to prototyping through the life of the product) accountability. The engineer who helps you design for your application

is the same person for tool design, PPAP, processing and manufacturing support.
We have Autocad 2000I, Solid Works 2005 and Pro-E 2000 Cad software on 6 networked workstations but can also work with your DXF or IGES files.
Non-linear FEA is available at cost.
With in-house moldmaking capability we can literally fabricate a simple proto mold overnight if needed and be shipping your samples a day later. Prototype molds that fully represent production process are usually molding parts in 2 weeks or less. Production tooling averages 8 weeks and will be less for a relatively simple cavity design.
Our engineers are anxious to help you with your concepts and ideas. We will support your efforts at your facility, but welcome visitors to our headquarters in Macedonia Ohio.
