We developed a molding process to co-mold two rubber compounds. Each rubber compound is designed to seal the separate pressure environments of the HVAC system, at the same time. We formulated two distinct compounds, where a softer rubber durometer provides sealing at low pressure, and a harder rubber durometer provides sealing and resistance to high pressure. The rubber is color-coded, to ensure that the Core Seal is assembled with the correct seal side towards the targeted pressure range.
We designed our molding process to mold the two rubber compounds into a single part. Our molding process is certified to meet ISO 9000:2000 / TS 16949 Quality Management System standards, and our materials laboratory is certified to the ISO 17025 standards.
